It is very easy to focus on the
human propensity for cruelty.
My country is now being lead
by a complete buffoon
through a political and democratic disaster.
I read a news article where a group of children
kicked their school’s farm chickens to death.
I see my friends receiving messages
filled with hate and unfiltered vitriol.
I see people suffering
physically
mentally
emotionally
financially
and I see nothing being done to help them.
I see myself acting out of cruelty
when I have always tried to be kind.
It is very easy to focus on these things
when every day, the world
seems to be always in crisis.
But also there is human propensity for kindness.
I see millions being raised for charity.
I see people united by their outrage
and trying to make a difference
and trying to help those more disadvantaged than themselves.
I see my friends,
reaching out to help me
when I have done nothing but push away.
The world would be a better place
if we all tried to do good recklessly.
